What is UV DTF?

UV DTF (Ultraviolet Direct-to-Film) is a printing process that creates full-color, peel-and-stick decals for hard, smooth surfaces. Unlike traditional stickers, UV DTF transfers use UV-cured inks and adhesive films to produce durable, vibrant designs without needing a heat press.

Here's how it works:

  1. A design is printed onto a special transfer film using UV-curable inks.
  2. The ink is instantly hardened (cured) with UV light.
  3. A second adhesive film is laminated over the print.
  4. The finished transfer is peeled from its backing and applied directly to an object.

Common surfaces include:

  • Glass
  • Metal
  • Acrylic
  • Plastic
  • Ceramic
  • Wood (smooth, sealed)
  • Tumblers and mugs

Advantages:

  • No heat press required
  • Bright, high-resolution prints
  • Water-resistant and scratch-resistant
  • Works well on curved objects like cups and bottles
  • Fast application

Limitations:

  • Not designed for fabric or clothing (that's what DTF printing is for).
  • Doesn't adhere well to rough, textured, or flexible surfaces.
  • Once applied, it's difficult to remove without damaging the decal.
